Real funds, synthetic exposure

Element runs on Robinhood Chain mainnet with real USDG. Positions are synthetic: you take price exposure to a reference, not ownership of a share. You can lose some or all of your collateral. The risks below are structural properties of the design; understand them before you trade.

Trading risks

• Leverage amplifies both gains and losses. See Liquidations for how liquidation works
• Off-hours the mark can deviate from the next equity open; a position held across the close marks continuously against it
• A stale feed freezes the market, so an action may be temporarily impossible during an outage
• Fees apply to both opening and closing, so they weigh more on short-duration trades

Liquidity and solvency risk

Providing liquidity means being the counterparty to traders. The vault gains when traders lose on net and loses when they win on net; its value is not guaranteed.

• A run of profitable traders draws down the vault and your Element LP share price
• High utilization can delay withdrawals until reserved capital is freed
• Winning closes the vault cannot immediately cash enter a FIFO payout queue

Protocol and operational risk

• Smart contracts can contain unknown vulnerabilities
• The mark is sourced off-chain and published on-chain; the protocol depends on that data being available and correct
• A least-privilege pause authority can pause markets (it can never unpause); closes, cancels, and liquidations remain available while a market is paused
• Parameters such as fees, margins, and caps can be tuned by the protocol operator
