Security

Account-security basics and the protocol safeguards that protect what you sign.

Protect your wallet

  • Never share a seed phrase or private key; Element will never ask for one
  • Verify the domain before connecting
  • Use a hardware wallet for meaningful balances
  • Read every wallet prompt before signing, and keep your USDG allowance bounded

Protocol safeguards

Element's on-chain design limits what any party can do with your funds.

  • Non-custodial: you approve a bounded USDG allowance to the trading engine and can revoke it anytime
  • Permissionless liquidation: anyone can liquidate an eligible position, and no one can liquidate their own
  • Fail-closed pricing: a stale mark freezes the market rather than trading on a bad price, per Price integrity
  • Least-privilege pause: the pause authority can pause a market but can never unpause it, and closes, cancels, and liquidations stay available while paused

Verify what you sign

Every contract Element uses is published with its address on the Contracts page and verifiable on the block explorer. Confirm the trading engine address before approving USDG, and review transactions before signing.
